As soon as we brought this screen into the shop yesterday it transformed the space. A woven reproduction of artist Marchetti’s late 18th Century interior scene has an air of grandeur and the scale alone adds drama to a space. Very theatrical.

Our proximity to Columbia Road means that we always have an eye out for a suitable receptacle for those enormous bunches of flowers that seem to enter M.Goldstein before their owners. Both of these impressive jugs would be perfect for that purpose or equally utilised for the purpose originally intended.

New item this week is an early 1940s branded “ANGLEPOISE” lamp. Generous size and in original condition this is a British design classic from the early 20th Century.
